All Rights Reserved. HARDWARE CONFIGURATION The FHL-7123 has one switch and five jumper blocks which are used to configure the board. These switches and jumpers are located as follows.
S1: PC I/O Base Address
Switch S1 sets the base PC I/O address for accessing the FHL-7123 adapter card. The following table lists the valid switch settings and the corresponding PC I/O base address.

J1 - PC INTERRUPT REQUEST LEVEL
This jumper selects the PC IRQ used when the board microcode wants to interrupt the PC. Choices are IRQ2, IRQ3, IRQ4, IRQ5, and IRQ7. This jumper controls the enabling of the PC interrupt request level selected by jumper J1. When the shunt is installed on the top two pins the software can enable and disable the PC Interrupts. When the shunt is installed on the bottom two pins the PC interrupts are always enabled. This second option should be used with any software not supplied by Fraser's Hill. This jumper controls the enabling of DMA channel 1. When the shunt is installed on the top two pins the software can enable and disable DMA channel 1. When the shunt is installed on the bottom two pins DMA channel 1 is always enabled. This second option should be used with any software not supplied by Fraser's Hill. DMA channel 3 can only be enabled by the software. A three position jumper selects an optional regulated +9 volt DC power source on one of two V.24/RS-232 pins. Installing the shunt on positions 1-2 enables this power source on V.24 pin 9, installing the shunt on positions 2-3 enables this power source on V.24 pin 25, removing the shunt disables this feature. The maximum current used should not exceed 0.5 amps. When this shunt is installed the FHL-7123 asynchronous port will use the IRQ selected by J1 for the synchronous port instead of the default interrupt request level selected by switch S1 positions 5-6. When this shunt is not installed the asynchronous port will use the default interrupt request level for the serial port selected by switch S1 positions 5-6.
