 
    
Setting Up the Fraser's Hill SDLC Adapter
for use with the 32 bit NetSoft NS/Router Windows 95 #
You must install the SDLC adapter on your PC and configure it
within your Win32 operating system environment before you can
use the adapter for the SDLC link. The Fraser's Hill SDLC link
supports the following additional adapter types:
Fraser's Hill FHL-7121 High Speed X.21 SDLC Adapter *
Fraser's Hill FHL-7122 SDLC Adapter
Fraser's Hill FHL-7123 SDLC+Async Adapter
Fraser's Hill FHL-7124 High Speed V.24 SDLC Adapter *
Fraser's Hill FHL-7135 High Speed V.35 SDLC Adapter *
Synapse WinSDLC Adapter
To install an SDLC adapter into your operating environment
1. From the Control Panel, double-click the Add New Hardware icon.
The Add New Hardware Wizard is displayed.
2. Click Next.
3. At the prompt, "Do you want Windows to search for your new
hardware?" click No.
4. Click Next.
5. Under Hardware Types, click Other Devices. (You may have to
scroll the list to find it.)
6. Click Next.
7. Click (detected net drivers) and Existing Ndis2 driver, if they
are not already selected.
8. Click Have Disk. The Install From Disk dialog box is displayed.
9. Click Browse to find the SDLC information file (.INF) for your
SDLC adapter in the ELITE\COMM folder of your installation path.
The Open dialog box lists available .INF files.
Note: Disregard the .INF filename shown in the File Name box.
This file will not necessarily be used.
10. Once you have viewed the list of .INF files, click OK to close
the Open dialog box.
11. The Install From Disk dialog box is displayed again.
12. Under Manufacturers, click the maker of the SDLC adapter you are
installing.
13. Under Models, click the type of SDLC adapter you want to install.
14. Click Next on the next two wizard screens.
Note: If the wizard screen displays a warning message, you should
follow the message's instructions for using the Device Manager to
adjust the adapter settings.
15. Click Finish.
You can now restart your computer to implement the changes,
unless you need to first use the Device Manager to adjust the
adapter settings.
Notes:
* The FHL-7121, FHL-7124, and FHL-7135 adapters will be supported
in a future release.
# Windows NT will be supported in a future release.
