OVERVIEW
The Fraser's Hill FHL-8124 is a low cost, high
performance, single channel, synchronous and asynchronous,
multiprotocol V.24 RS-232 serial communications coprocessor card for
the IBM PS/2 and compatible personal computers using the
Micro Channel architecture.
FEATURES
- Standard full size Micro Channel adapter.
- Intel or AMD 80C186 10, 12, 16, or 20 MHz microprocessor.
- Zilog Z85230 8, 10, 16, 20 MHz serial communications controller.
- 64 kilobytes to 1 megabyte static RAM, fully addressable
from the PC through two 16 kilobyte windows.
- One CCITT V.24 / EIA RS-232 port, synchronous or asynchronous,
with data rates up to 256000 bps.
- Synchronous mode supports: SDLC, HDLC, Bisync, or Monosync
protocols; NRZ, NRZI, FM0, or FM1 data encoding.
- Asynchronous mode supports: 5, 6, 7, or 8 data bits;
1, 1.5, or 2 stop bits; odd, even, or no parity.
- Bidirectional software controlled interrupts between host
PC and 80186 microprocessor.
- Two on-board DMA channels to increase performance.
- User configurable memory window addresses, I/O addresses,
and IRQ level.
- Built-in null modem with synchronous clocking.
- Communications protocols, such as SNA or X.25, can be
implemented entirely on the board, with a high level
software interface to PC application and terminal
emulation programs.
